Meet the Characters

Mochi

Mochi is a gentle, curious and thoughtful baby koala. He cares about others and sometimes feels shy or anxious. Across his stories, he is learning to be brave, accept mistakes and speak kindly to himself. He does not have to be calm or perfect all the time.

Miles

Miles meets big feelings in everyday situations. In the six published stories, he explores anger, a cloudy mood, misunderstandings, difficult projects, quiet observation and taking a pause. Support, thoughtful questions and small steps are part of his reading world.

Dodo

Dodo invites playful, curious participation. His published adventures use art, sound, bubbles, light and page-turning to encourage creative interaction with a book. Readers can join in at their own pace, with an adult nearby.

Kindness & Boundaries

Can kindness include saying no?

Mindfulness

A small noticing moment before reading

You do not need a special room or a silent child to notice something together. Before opening a book, look for one colour nearby or listen for one sound. Let the child lead if they wish. A few seconds…
